Childcare Vouchers - information for Parents
Are you a working parent or guardian with a child who needs childcare?
Do you worry about the rising costs of living and would you love somehow to save money?
Given the opportunity would you like
to save up to £933* every year?
Blossom Childcare Vouchers are here
to assist and support you.
Childcare Vouchers are a work-life balance
scheme introduced by the Government in April 2005 and have the ongoing
support of HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
Irrespective of how many children you
may have aged between 0-15 yrs (16 if disabled) you could make a yearly
saving of up to £933*. This is done quite simply by entering
into a salary sacrifice (salary exchange) scheme with Blossom Childcare
How it works
This scheme is offered by your Employers
but managed by Blossom.
You will be given the opportunity to
register with Blossom and exchange up to £243* per month of your salary
for Blossom Childcare Vouchers. You do not pay any National Insurance
or Tax on your exchange amount; this is how your savings are made.
When you register with Blossom your nominated
childcare provider will be contacted and given the opportunity to register
with Blossom. The child carers can range from au pairs, nannies,
breakfast clubs, day nurseries, holiday clubs, after school clubs, child
minder, day care nurseries, to name but a few.
We will also check on your behalf that your child carers hold the required registration to be able to receive Blossom Childcare Vouchers. These are:
- Ofsted Childcare Register (Compulsory in England)
- Childcare Register (Voluntary in England)
- Local Health and Social Services Trusts in Northern Ireland
- The Care Commission in Scotland
- The Childcare Approval Scheme in Wales
- The Care Standards Inspectorate in Wales
Once satisfied that all criteria have
been met, each childcare provider registered with Blossom Childcare
Vouchers is given a unique reference number. Your childís personal
details must be registered alongside that childcare provider.
Blossom will then pay your childcare provider direct on your behalf.
If this does not cover your whole child care costs, you must make arrangements
to pay the balance yourself.
If you have more than one childcare provider
and want to give different amounts, this can be done simply and efficiently.
A paper or e-voucher will be issued direct to you to complete and hand
to the childcare provider who then contacts Blossom using the dedicated
free phone number for payment. Their unique reference number is
quoted to Blossom along with your childís name and amount and this
amount is then deducted from the parentís voucher exchange and paid
directly into the childcare providerís bank account.
