Childcare Vouchers - information for Employers

Blossom Childcare Vouchers are here to assist and support you.

By introducing a reliable, safe and secure Childcare Voucher Scheme we can assist and manage everything necessary to allow you and your employees make substantial savings every year.

Through your participation you could help your employee save up to £933* per annum via reduced National Insurance (NI) and Income Tax contributions.

In addition, we can help you save up to £402* per employee per year via reduced NI contributions.

How it works

To enable you and your employees (the parents) to participate and take full advantage of all of the savings, a salary sacrifice (salary exchange) agreement must be entered:

You, the employer, register with Blossom Childcare Vouchers, then we take full responsibility for managing the scheme on your behalf.

The parent agrees to exchange part of their salary every month (up to £243*) which will instantly make them exempt from paying tax and NI on that amount. This is how the yearly savings are made.

Because the parent has entered into the salary exchange scheme you will save immediately. You will not pay any NI on the exchange amount.

Every month the exchange amount is paid direct to Blossom Childcare Vouchers, who then go on to pay the parentís nominated registered childcare provider. The child carers can range from au pairs, nannies, breakfast clubs, day nurseries, holiday clubs, after school clubs, child minders, and day care nurseries.

To be able to receive Blossom Childcare Vouchers the Child Carer must be registered through one of the following:

Ofsted Childcare Register (Compulsory in England)

Childcare Register (Voluntary in England)

Local Health and Social Services Trusts in Northern Ireland

The Care Commission in Scotland

The Childcare Approval Scheme in Wales

The Care Standards Inspectorate in Wales

After an initial consultation, if your company is happy to register with us your individually designed scheme can be launched by Blossom to all of your employees with all enquiries about the scheme being directed straight to us.

Once we are satisfied all criteria have been met we will then notify you how much each registered employee has agreed to exchange every month. This information will be sent to you every month on an agreed date. Any amendments which have been made will be passed on to you to ensure all employee contract requirements are up to date.

At Blossom unlike other voucher providers we will not ask you to

  • Draw up your own contracts
  • Register on line
  • Manage your own account on line
  • Distribute the vouchers
  • Handle any general enquiries from your employees

There are no set up or consultation fees to enter into with the Blossom Childcare Voucher Scheme. There are also no additional fees if more of your employees decide to register.

Our fee, a small percentage of the total monthly exchange amount, is both fair and realistic. It is met from the National Insurance savings that you have made. You will find that even after our fee has been paid you will make substantial yearly savings.
